Competitive Wages for Experienced Lead Carpenter

We are a general contractor located on the north end of the Kitsap Peninsula that specializes in new construction, additions, remodels, and maintenance. We are growing our company and seeking a highly motivated, full-time Lead Carpenter to join our close-knit, fun-loving, highly skilled, and hard-working team.

The ideal applicant will understand ground up construction and renovations with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a crew of 1-3 people, ensuring tasks are completed to our company’s high standards, and weekly goals are being met.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Study specifications and building plans to prepare project layout, forecast material needs, and coordinate construction project activities by setting crew goals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Manage the construction schedule, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Perform carpentry tasks including concrete, framing, roofing, siding, trim work, and finishing.
  • Professionally interact and coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and manage the use of materials, tools, and equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Ensure sites are adequately prepped for subcontractor’s scheduled arrivals.
  • Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  • Install framing, blocking, doors, windows, subflooring, trim and fixtures in structures undergoing construction.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
  • Journey level carpentry skills including, but not limited to, fine finish work, framing, siding, and flashing techniques, window and door installation, cabinet installations, stair building and concrete.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, overseeing and managing a team.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Basic computer skills for project management software and communication.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Carpentry-related certifications or training are a plus.
  • Also, it is helpful to have knowledge of roofing, plumbing, electrical and drywall for occasional minor repairs.
